Another snippet of myself playing with band Connotations busting out another Michael Jackson hit – The Way You Make Me Feel. Love this track too.

In general, I find shuffles the more difficult groove to get to sit well. It helps when you have great musicians around you that can really contribute to the feel of course but I find that I have to try to fill out the groove with some extra ideas – floor tom etc. You’ll see what I mean in the video. This all comes from some layered samples on the original recording. Of course, you could just play a normal shuffle groove and it’d still sound fine.
