Ladies and Gentlemen! The Flam….

This the beginning of a whole family of rudiments. The flam rudiments make up a massive part of being a good drummer but they all have one grand ancestor – The Flam.

Essentially we’re talking about two notes that almost strike at the same time. You don’t think of the flam in this way though. The rudiment is still counted and felt as one note. This said, once you’ve got your hands around it, you can really experiment with it and even separate the hands to different drums.

Flams really work the hands in a different way than any other rudiment so get into it and be sure to check out the other flam rudiment lessons to get some more insight into one of the best rudiments out there!
