If you haven’t check out MONO cases yet, then you need to. I’m a big advocate of carrying my gear in bags and soft cases rather than hard cases – mostly because of the weight factor, how comfortable they are to carry and finally for most of the gigs I do, I don’t need “getting chucked on as plane luggage” style protection.
MONO cases are of supreme quality and will keep up with a lot of hard cases. I had the opportunity to head down to Revolver Drums in Melbourne to check out the latest offerings from this company that are really kicking goals from their M80 Series – The Shinjuku slimline Stick bag, Cymbal Bag, adjustable Snare Case and Double Pedal bag. Each one of these products offers a quality and user friendly experience.
Even though I’m a lover of soft cases, unfortunately, many have let me down with their construction. The guys from MONO really appear to have addressed the problem. I have a stack of their gear now and time will tell if they stand up to the beatings of a gigging drummer. That said, I reckon they’re gonna give me a run for my money.
